    The objectives of Work Package 08 are a) the tructural/chemical, mechanical/tribological and corrosion characterization of bio-materials and endoprosthesis prototypes, b) the testing of bio-materials for biocompatibility, antibacterial properties and allergenic potential and c) the identification the material combinations with the best properties.

    Work Package 08 starts from the execution of structural/chemical, mechanical/tribological and corrosion characterization of reference materials and new material combinations. Samples that demonstrated desired mechanical, tribological and corrosion properties will be tested for biocompatibility, antibacterial properties and allergenic potential. As a result, the material combinations with the best mechanical and antibacterial properties and biocompatibility will be identified. Evaluation of friction and wear of implants prototypes with will be performed with the help of original simulators.
